Man Steals Diamond Ring the Day Before Valentines

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who walked into a Covington-area department store the day before Valentine’s Day and stole a diamond ring. He is described as a white man, with straight, short hair and goatee and dressed in blue jeans, a long-sleeved denim shirt and tennis shoes.
The walked around the store for several minutes, left, and re-entered the store.  He then asked to see one of the diamond rings that were on display. After being handed the ring, the man ran out of the store with the ring in his hand and drove off in the two-toned white minivan.
The ring is described as having 1 carat total weight, with three diamonds. It is valued at $5,000 and is a size seven. Contact Det. Foltmer at (985) 276-1330 if you have information about this crime.
