Burnell Lott Seals
April 10, 1946 - November 2, 2026
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Burnell Seals, who departed this life on November 2, 2026 at the age of 80.
Born in Tylertown, Mississippi, and raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Burnell made her home in Walker, Louisiana, for 27 years before later residing in Denham Springs.
Burnell was a hardworking, independent, and compassionate woman who dedicated much of her life to caring for others. Later in life, she earned her Commercial Driver's License and traveled across the country as a truck driver before returning home to help care for her grandchildren.
She later became a school bus driver for the Livingston Parish Public School System, faithfully serving for more than 20 years. To Burnell, driving a school bus was much more than a job; it was an opportunity to make a difference in children's lives.
She had a special place in her heart for children facing difficult circumstances. Her compassion extended beyond the bus, as she opened her heart and home to children needing love, guidance, and stability. She served as a foster parent to some of her grandchildren and other children in her community.
Burnell believed every child deserved to feel safe, valued, and loved. She was strong yet compassionate, firm when necessary, and always willing to offer understanding and another chance. Her life was defined by selflessness, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Lee Lewis Lott Griffin and Willie Edward Lott, and her sisters, Margie Lynn Beeson, Madeline Smith Freeman, and Mary Lou Carter.
Burnell leaves behind her three beloved children, Myrtha V. Nobles, Douglas Glenn Voth, and Troy Henry Allen Voth; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless lives she touched.
Burnell's greatest legacy will not be measured by the miles she traveled or the years she lived, but by the children she protected, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.

Special Acknowledgments and Heartfelt Appreciation
As Burnell's daughter, I want to express my deepest gratitude to those who helped care for my mother during the final months of her life.
A special thank-you to her grandchildren, Dustin Voth and Jodi Seals, who stood beside me in caring for their grandmother; Ms. Charlotte Nobles, who lovingly stayed with my mother while I worked; and Debbie Ellington, who was always willing to help when needed. Your love, time, and support meant more than words can express.
To the wonderful staff at Clarity Hospice, especially Ms. Jamie, Ms. Joyce, and Ms. Wendi, thank you for the exceptional compassion, kindness, and dignity you showed my mother throughout her hospice journey.
My heartfelt appreciation also goes to Deborah, Karley, Danielle, and Terry for the extraordinary care and comfort provided during Mom's inpatient stay at The Crossing. Your kindness during some of our most difficult moments will never be forgotten.
A particularly special thank-you to Debra and Mary for your friendship, love, guidance, and unwavering support. Your presence and reassurance gave me strength when I needed it most.
The final months of my mother's life were filled with challenges, difficult decisions, and emotions beyond words. Each of you helped carry me through one of the hardest journeys of my life.
You did more than care for my mother. You cared for me, too.
To Dustin, Jodi, Mary, Debra, Ms. Charlotte, Debbie, and the entire Clarity Hospice team, thank you for walking beside us and helping make my mother's final journey one of comfort, dignity, and love.
I could not have made it through this without you, and I will forever be grateful.
