Rosetta Thomas Byrd Miller

Rosetta Thomas Byrd Miller, age 87 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away early Friday morning October 30, 2026 at her daughter’s home. She was lovingly known as Rosie to many, and affectionately called Momma, Mawmaw and RoRo by those closest to her. She was a woman whose life was rooted in faith, family and love. Rosetta was retired after a long career at Washington Bank in Franklinton. She was an active member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church and very involved with the WMU. A devoted Christian, her love for the Lord and her church family was an important part of who she was. Rosetta and her friends played Bingo in the church fellowship hall weekly, a get-together she greatly enjoyed. She liked completing word-search puzzles and sitting on her back porch watching the beautiful hummingbirds that visited her yard each day. Rosetta had a special place in her heart for her pet dog “Miss Holly”.
Above all else, she treasured her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter, who were the pride and joy of her life. Rosetta’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the family who will forever cherish the memories, love and lessons she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Justin Felder Jenkins, husbands Jerry Virgil Byrd, Leroy Miller, mother Nettie Penton Thomas, father and step-mother Ray I. Thomas and Gertrude Thomas, brother in law Ray Perry and other family members,
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday November 2nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Monday with Rev. Calvin Crowe and Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Byrd/Letchworth Cemetery.
