Roger L. Holloway
November 27, 1949 — October 27, 2026
Roger L. Holloway, age 76, passed away on October 27, 2026. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on November 27, 1949 to Wilmer Holloway and Maude Baham Holloway, the eleventh of fourteen children.
Roger was an irreplaceable husband, father, Papa, and friend. His life was defined by a love of learning, hard work, good food, and an unwavering sense of reliability. Above all, he was a man of his word.
He remained true to himself until the very end, spending his final day on this earth with Barbara, his beloved wife of 56 years, and grinning as he tended to the land he loved on his farm in Plainview.
He leaves behind three generations of "his girls"—women he raised to be strong-willed and resilient—and the men he trusted to love them.
Roger is survived by his wife, Barbara Holloway; daughters, Belinda (Dustin) Cole and Robin (Scott) Intravia; granddaughters, Savannah (Jason) Patel, Erin Blaise Cole, and Grace (Michael) Longo; great-granddaughters, Meera Patel, Magdalene Patel, Erin Rose Longo, and soon-to-be-born Maudie Lynn Patel; and his sister, Charlotte “Dee Dee” Pusa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Maude Holloway; and his siblings, Sharon "Kay" Lott, Virginia Dale Boler, Debbie Blackburn, Gloria Jo Holloway, Rickey Holloway, Wayne Holloway, Gerald Pete Holloway, Jean Crews, Patsy Vigil, Steve Holloway, Donald Holloway, and Gary Holloway.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Roger on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
