Dwane Eugene Cox, age 73, passed away peacefully Friday night October 23, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1952 to the late Jewel James Cox, Sr. and Annie Mae Stokes Cox.
Dwane was a man of strength, unwavering faith and boundless love. His faith served as the foundation for how he treated others and walked through life. He cherished nothing more than our family gatherings. His voice leading us in prayer will echo in our hearts forever. Our family gatherings will never be the same without his bright smile and laughter, his presence will be deeply missed at our table.
He is survived by his brother Ronnie Cox, a sister Carolyn Hyde and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Dwane was also preceded in death by his brothers Jewel James Cox, Jr., Floyd Cox, sisters Shirley Bennett, Helen Bankston and other family members.
A graveside funeral service for his friends and family will be held in the Wilmer Baptist Church Cemetery (65243 Hwy. 1061, Kentwood, LA) on Wednesday October 28th at 11:00 am.
