Linda Marie Miley
October 24, 1952 - October 17, 2026
Linda Marie Miley, age 73, passed away Saturday morning October 17, 2026 at her daughter’s home following a lengthy illness. Born in Bogalusa on October 24, 1952, Linda was originally from the Musterground Community and made her home in Pine, LA. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose love touched the lives of many.
Linda was a loving wife to her husband of 55 years, Larry Miley, and a devoted mother to her daughter Melissa Bates and son in law Richard Dwayne Bates. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Cody Bates, Justin Bates and Colbie Bates, she was also honorary “mom” to special family friend Terry W. Miley. Watching her grandchildren grow up brought her great joy, and her family was one of the greatest blessings of her life.
Linda was a friend to everyone she met. She had a way of making people feel welcome, and she treasured the time she spent visiting and talking with family and friends. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was listening to music, sitting on the porch sipping a cup of coffee, or enjoying the company of those she loved. Linda especially enjoyed watching her little dog, Blossom, play in the yard. She also loved browsing through stores, taking her time and carefully deciding on the things she wanted. These everyday moments were part of Linda’s unique personality and the life she enjoyed.
In addition to her husband, daughter, son in law and grandchildren, Linda is survived by a sister, Karen Woodard; several nieces and nephews, many other family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bennie Ray Jarrell and Marjorie Sandifer Jarrell, brothers Charles Ray Jarrell, Bruce Allen Jarrell, Mark Ellis Jarrell and other family members.
Linda leaves behind a lifetime of love, treasured memories and family bonds that will never be broken. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories of coffee on the porch, music, laughter, and time spent together will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered always for the love she gave and the friendships she shared.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday October 20th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Tuesday with Eld. Jason Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
