Throughout the months of July and August, detectives with the Slidell Police Department NarcoticsDivision conducted a series of proactive investigations targeting illegal narcotics activity throughout Slidell and the surrounding area. The two-month enforcement effort resulted in 75 arrests, 13 search warrants, and the seizure of a significant amount of illegal narcotics and firearms.
During the investigations, detectives seized approximately:

The arrests and seizures were the result of numerous narcotics investigations involving surveillance, traffic interdiction, and court-authorized search warrants. While some investigations developed over time, others resulted directly from proactive enforcement efforts aimed at identifying individuals involved in the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics within our community.
These enforcement efforts were carried out with assistance from members of the Slidell Police Department’s K-9 and Traffic Divisions, as well as several of our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. Detectives worked closely with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Louisiana State Police throughout several of the investigations. During this same time, the St. Tammany Parish District Attorney’s Office provided additional support and resources through its Opioid Initiative.
The cooperation between these agencies continues to play an important role in identifying those responsible for distributing dangerous drugs throughout our community and ensuring the necessary resources are available to investigate and ultimately hold these individuals accountable.

Chief Tommy Williams praised the work of the detectives and officers involved in the investigations, as well as the continued partnership between the agencies that assisted.
