Janet Culpepper Hodnett

December 22, 1971 – September 16, 2026

Janet Culpepper Hodnett was born in Hattiesburg, MS on December 22, 1971 and passed away in Slidell, LA on September 16, 2026 at the age of 54.

Janet was a God-fearing woman with a very strong faith. She taught Sunday school for many years and was a paralegal for 23 years. Janet was a selfless person that had a great love for life. She loved her family and friends and never had a dull moment. Janet enjoyed doing all sorts of activities and making crafts.

Janet is survived by her husband Royce E. Hodnett Jr. of Slidell, LA; her son Zach (Laken Blake) DeLancey of Columbia, MS; mother Euna Denise Culpepper; sister Delilah June Grant of Poplarville, MS; grandchildren Hollin Grace DeLancey and Olivia Rose Broom.

Janet was preceded in death by her father Senate Wheeler Culpepper; and a brother Jonathan Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. and on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 8:00a.m. until the service time of 10:00a.m. Rev. Dan Carr, Rev. Billy Kent Smith, Rev. Caleb Martin, and Rev. Johnny Williams will officiate the service and interment will follow at Ford’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
