Obituary

Tabitha Ann Desmond Cook

September 9, 1971 - September 13, 2026

Tabitha Desmond Cook, age 55, of Franklinton, Louisiana, passed away on September 13, 2026.

Tabitha was a loving and giving soul whose heart was always focused on the people around her. She had a way of putting everyone else before herself, loving deeply and giving freely to those she cared about. Her family was the center of her world, and there was nothing she treasured more than being surrounded by the people she loved.

Above all, Tabitha loved being a mother and grandmother. She was completely devoted to her grandchildren and took immense joy in watching them grow, spending time with them, and loving them with her whole heart. Being their grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Tabitha also deeply loved her husband, Kevin. Their love and the life they shared together held a special place in her heart. She missed him dearly after his passing, and there is comfort in knowing they are together once again.

She loved music, shopping, spending time with her family, and simply being with the people she loved. Those who knew Tabitha will remember her generous spirit, her loving heart, and the way she made her family feel cared for.

Tabitha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kevin Cook; her parents, Gilbert and Liz Desmond; her best friend, Melissa Desmond, her brother Richard Desmond and her granddaughter, Bristol Gaines.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Nick Gaines, Morgan and Nick Gatlin, and Kristen and Blake Cowell; and her beloved grandchildren, River Cowell, Wyatt Gatlin, Oakley Cowell, and Everleigh Gatlin. Her Sister Lisa Raquet, brother Gee Desmond, she also leaves behind other family and friends whose lives were made better simply because she was a part of them.

Although her family would have given anything for more time with her, the love Tabitha gave throughout her life will remain with them. She will be remembered in the music she loved, in family gatherings, in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and in all the little moments that will forever carry a piece of her.

Her love was big, her family was her world, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.
