Doris Jeanette Patterson Guy

Doris Jeanette Patterson Guy, age 67 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday night August 5, 2026 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Alabama but had lived in Washington Parish for over 20 years. Doris enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family. She always loved large family gatherings and reunions. Her favorite hobby was working in her vegetable garden and taking care of her many chickens and barnyard animals. She canned a lot of her vegetables, made delicious jellies and sold or donated most of the eggs she collected from her big flock. She will be sadly missed by her beloved family.
Survived by: Husband of 21 years: Brett Guy; Children and Spouses: Melissa Salter of Franklinton, Shelia and Keith Zeringue of Boutte, LA, Jennifer and Steven Walters, Justin Guy, Jesse and Morgan Guy; Grandchildren: Tiffany, Abbie, Nevaeh, Meghan, Damian, Ivan, Reagan, Meagan, Layton, Karsyn, Halen; Great-grandchildren: Adilynne, Ryker; Siblings and Spouses: William Patterson, Jr., Pamela and Sal Claiborne, Donald Patterson, Johnny and Sarah Patterson; Also several brothers in law, sisters in law, and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her son Wayne Salter, parents William Frances Patterson, Sr. and Doris Dean McGraw Patterson, sister Annie Patterson, brother Dannie Patterson and other family members.
A memorial service for her family will be planned in the near future.
