Federal Officer Arrested by St. Tammany Parish S.O.

A federal officer, 58-year-old Thomas Bailey of Lecompte, was arrested Friday (August 21, 2026) morning after he entered his ex-girlfriend’s Covington-area apartment without permission. The ex-girlfriend was not home at the time Bailey entered the apartment.

Bailey, employed at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Oakdale, was arrested by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for one count of L.R.S. 14:62.3 Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.

“Regardless of where you work or what position you hold, the law applies equally to everyone,” Sheriff Bret Ibert said. “When someone enters another person’s residence without permission, we are going to investigate the circumstances and take the appropriate action based on the facts of the case.”
