Cullie (Spooky) Cotton, Jr.

July 23, 1964 — July 24, 2026

Cullie Cotton, Jr. was born to the late Cullie Cotton, Sr. and Claudette Peters Cotton in Bogalusa, LA on July 23, 1964. He journeyed home on July 24, 2026 at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, LA.

At an early age he accepted Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He later joined Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Mims, where he attending until his health began to decline.

He attended Bogalusa High School, where he played football for the Bogalusa Lumberjacks and graduated in 1983. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1983 until 1988.

In 1988, he met the love of his life Amy and her son and in 1989 they had a daughter. On February 12, 1994 they entered in holy matrimony. He was a devoted and loving father and husband and enjoyed travelling with his family, gardening, watching his favorite tv programs such as Midway and Jeopardy because of his avid love of history.

He worked as a construction laborer until he found his career calling as a truck driver in 1996 with Schneider Bulk Carriers until he became an owner-operator which spanned a career of 24 years.

His precious love and memories will forever live on in the hearts of his beloved and devoted wife of 38 years, Amy Jordan Cotton; a son, LaJón (Lindsay) Jordan; a daughter, Brittany (Demond Martin) Jordan; two precious granddaughters, Aneiyah Jordan and Amiya Martin; two sisters, Valerie Cotton and Culleen Cotton; two very special nieces/God daughters, LaKysha Cotton and Drereccia Merrick; two sisters-in-law, Carletta Hall and Alicia (Ray) Magee; four brothers-in-law, Douglas Holts, Sanderfelix Miller, Stanley Miller, and Ricky Conerly; one uncle, Glynn Cotton; three aunts, Donna V. Jackson, Carolyn Peters and Hilda Peters; a special brother/cousin, Tommy Tyner, Jr.; two God sisters, Daphne Taylor and Antonia Self two very special friends, Debra Jordan and Felicia Graves; nieces who looked up to him, nephews who admired him, and other family and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cullie and Claudette Cotton; mother-in-law, Irma Lee Jordan; father-in-law, Junior Earl Brumfield; a fur baby, Pharah Cotton; Grandparents, Rev. Walter and Annie Peters and David and Bonnie Mae Cotton; godparents, Floyd and Audrey Owens; two brothers, Kenneth Cotton and Anthony Hall; two sisters, Janet Cotton and Tricia Conerly and many other loved ones gone on before.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 12:00 Noon – 3:00PM followed by the funeral service at 3:00PM at Greater Ebeneezer Baptist Church with Pastor Willie C. Gallagher – Officiating.
