Obituary

Carolyn Robinson Duckworth

June 4, 1944 - July 12, 2026

On July 12, 2026, Carolyn Robinson Duckworth, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded and embraced by the family she held dear.

Born on June 4, 1944, in Picayune, Mississippi, Carolyn was the beloved daughter of the late William and Ira Robinson. She was the heart of her family—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by unconditional love and dedication to her family.

Carolyn devoted her life to caring for those she loved, working tirelessly and sacrificing without complaint. She spent the first 20+ years of her career working as a beautician before joining her husband as co-owner of Main Street Grocery. On any given day, you would find her greeting customers with a warm smile and giving children hugs and candy.

A simple and humble woman, Carolyn never measured life's riches by material possessions. Instead, she found true wealth in the love of her family, caring for others, and spending time with those she held dear. Nothing brought Carolyn greater happiness than seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren healthy, happy, and together. She was the steady foundation her family leaned on through every season of life- offering wisdom, strength, honesty, and endless support. She will be terribly missed but her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to call her their own.

Carolyn shared 63 years of marriage with her loving husband, Carl Rayford Duckworth. Together they built a family that was the greatest joy of her life.

She is survived by her husband and their children: Wayne Duckworth; Kimberly Camaille (Charles), Michelle Duckworth, and Carl "Rocky" Duckworth; Amanda Pearson (Lee) who she lovingly raised as her own; 11 grandchildren: Rae Dykes (David), Kacie Patti (Lance), Amy Cervantes (Manuel), Dillon Toomer (Aimee), Jared Duckworth (Hannah), Jessica Duckworth, Kaitlyn Duckworth, Ethan Duckworth, Ashtyn Terrell, Carter Pearson, and Reese Pearson; 12 great-grandchildren: Brantley Patti, Brady Patti, Kolby Cervantes, Lainey Sue Cervantes, Kruz Cervantes, Adriana Duckworth, Brielle Duckworth, River Duckworth, Caroline Dykes, Deacon Dykes, Emelia Toomer, and Jameson Toomer; sister Kathy Phillips; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Along with her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her sister, Janice Madden.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 pm. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 pm until the service begins. .

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
