Johnnie Ray McDaniel

July 14, 1944 - July 23, 2026

Johnnie Ray McDaniel, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, died peacefully on July 23, 2026 at the age of 82 in Montgomery, Texas.

Born on July 14, 1944, in Franklinton, Louisiana, Johnnie lived a life defined by hard work, dedication to family, a caring spirit that touched everyone who knew him, and his love of Christ. He was known for his strength of character, his sense of humor, his enjoyment of entertaining, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He truly never met a stranger.

After a dedicated career spent in the U.S. Navy, Johnnie would become a leader of several larger construction firms throughout South Louisiana and Southeast Texas. Throughout his life, Johnnie enjoyed spending time and traveling with his wife of 45 years and love of his life, Theresa St.Pe' McDaniel, and his 2 sons and their families. Traveling, spending time at the beach, in the mountains, or on a lake were his happy places, all the while enjoying life and doing all the things that he loved. Whether spending time with family, sharing stories with friends, or working to provide for those he loved, he did everything with commitment and heart above all.

Johnnie will be remembered most for the love he shared with his family. He leaves behind his children, Ron McDaniel (Ashley) and Ragan McDaniel (Lacey), grandchildren, Blaine, Breland, Sydnee, Samee, and Brady; siblings, Truman McDaniel and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Vernie McDaniel & Celia McDaniel, Velwood McDaniel(brother), Kenneth McDaniel(brother).

His family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared with him and in the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 15th at 11AM, Walden Community Church, Montgomery, Texas and a reception and celebration of life will follow.

Though he will be deeply missed, Johnnie Ray McDaniel's love, wisdom, and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
