Judith Davis Simmons

September 3, 1955 - July 26, 2026

Judith Davis Simmons, age 70 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Sunday July 26, 2026 at Fair City Health and Rehab after a lengthy illness. She was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church where she helped with Vacation Bible School and other events. Judy enjoyed going out to eat and traveling in her younger years, vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains several times. She was a big football fan that loved watching games, especially her favorite Kansas City Chiefs. Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survived by: Husband of 50 years: Robert L. Simmons; Son: Benjamin Craig Newcomb; Grandchildren: Sarah Paige Newcomb, Crystal Davis, Tiffany Davis; Also several beloved great-grandchildren; Brother: Scott Davis and his sons Jeremy and Steven; Sister in law: Gilda McCain and her sons Scott and Andy; Special Friends: Terry and Jerry Stogner; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by her daughter Rosemary Mitchell, son Roy Davis, parents Jim Davis and Mary Booty Davis, sister Joy Seals, brother Michael Davis, father in law and mother in law Clifford and Doris Simmons, sister in law Delores Johnson and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday July 29th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Wednesday with Rev. Daniel Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery.
