James Edward Bretton
November 7, 1984 - July 11, 2026
James Edward Bretton of Franklinton La was born on November 7, 1984 along with his identical twin brother, Jonathan Bretton in Summit, N J. James met and married the love of his life Amanda (Mandy) Wascom while living in the Bogalusa and Covington areas. James was noted for his strong devotion to his wife and children. He served his community with the Baton Rouge Police Dept. for several years and in the safety industry there, in Denham Springs, Colorado Springs, returning to the Franklinton area with his family to be near his wife’s father and to raise his children in the area they loved.
James leaves behind in loving memory, his wife Amanda Wascom Bretton, oldest son Jaxon, beautiful daughter Maci, and his youngest son James (L.J.), his identical twin brother Jonathan and wife Allie. James leaves behind the man he considered his father, Jesse Wascom and partner Shirley Hartman. His extended family includes his wife’s aunts Sue and Robert Goodrow of Olive Branch MS and aunt Kim Lewis of Madison MS. His uncle Peter Bretton and his cousins Michelle Holland and Mark Bretton of England UK., special friend Patsy Songy of Baton Rouge.
More than anything in this world, James loved his precious family. His wife and children were his priority in life and devoted every minute of every day to them. He was a quiet man with a strong work ethic and would help in a moment’s notice.
Private services will be held at a later date at the request of the family.
