Mary Heiser Sharp

May 22, 1930 - July 20, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Heiser Sharp, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, on July 20, 2026, at the age of 96. She was born on May 22, 1930, in the beautiful city of Knoxville, Tennessee to parents Rena Sears and Charles Heiser.

Mary was a proud graduate of Powell High School and dedicated many years of her life working for the Department of Agriculture, from which she eventually retired. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family.

Mary shared her life with her loving husband, Coy Sharp who preceded her in death. Together, they embraced the joys of farm life, relished in the art of square dancing, and found immense happiness in the company of their family. Their partnership was a testament to love, resilience, and mutual respect.

Mary's life was a tapestry woven with colorful threads of hobbies and interests that brought her joy and serenity. She had a natural talent for cross-stitching and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations. Her garden was her sanctuary, finding peace and joy among the blooms. Known for her sense of humor and strong will, Mary's home was always open, especially for family gatherings where she delighted in cooking and sharing meals that nourished both body and soul.

Mary's faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life. It was this unwavering belief that provided her strength and comfort, and it was evident in the way she lived her life.

Mary's son, James Campbell, who she loved greatly preceded her in death. Her legacy is carried on by her loving family: her son, Ronald Campbell and his wife Shirlene; her granddaughters, Melissa Greenwald, Shondell Fernandez and her husband Carlos, Shawnta Williams and her husband Melvin, Rhonda Sharp and her husband Glenn; her grandsons, Donovan Campbell and Samuel Sharp; her great grandchildren,  Eric and Jacob Fernandez, Aiden and Jami Greenwald, Kaitlyn Birkhoff, Tyler Sharp, Kaitlynn and Mica Cermano;  her great-great-grandsons, Mason and Ementerio Fernandez. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. Mary's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bedford Nursing Home for their compassionate care over the past few years.

A service to honor and celebrate Mary's remarkable life will be held on August 8, 2026.  Her family invites all those whose lives she touched to join them in remembering a woman who was truly one-of-a-kind!

Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her laughter, love, and legacy will forever be cherished.

A memorial service, officiated by Bro. Jacob Miller, will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, 610 Avenue F Bogalusa, LA, at 2:00 PM. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from noon until the service begins. The graveside burial will immediately follow the memorial service
