Ricky "Little Rick" Applewhite
December 31, 1988 - May 20, 2026
Our beloved Ricky Kevin Applewhite, lovingly known as "Little Rick," passed away on May 20, 2026 at the age of 37. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain in our hearts forever. Ricky leaves behind his son, mother, sister and his loving family, and many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and spirit.
Ricky faced many challenges throughout his life and spent years battling addiction while striving toward recovery. His journey was not an easy one, but through every setback, he continued searching for hope, strength, and a better tomorrow. Those who truly knew and loved him saw far beyond his struggles—they saw his determination, his compassion, and the man he was at his core.
To us, Ricky was so much more than the battles he fought. He was a devoted father, a cherished son, a beloved brother, and a deeply loved member of our family. His absence has left an immeasurable void that can never be filled.
A celebration of Life, officiated by Bro. Anakin Rhoden, will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 beginning at 4:00pm. We invite all who knew and loved Ricky to join us from 2:00 until the celebration begins to share memories and visit with the family as we say our final goodbyes.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made toward Ricky's funeral expenses. Donations may be made directly to Brown-McGehee Funeral Home. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated and will help ease the financial burden on our family during this difficult time.
Thank you for your love, prayers, kindness, and support. Your compassion has meant more to our family than words can express. Forever loved. Forever missed. Until we meet again.
