The new Council on Aging Nutrition Site officially opened today (July 17, 2026) at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness. The location is 24649 Vernon School Road, Mt. Hermon, Louisiana 70450.
This marks the Council on Aging's fifth location serving seniors throughout Washington Parish and provides the Mount Hermon and Vernon communities with daily meals, resources, support, fellowship, and activities, thereby improving the quality of life for our senior citizens.
Sheriff Jason Smith said it was an honor to be invited and encouraging to see our community growing in ways that help our neighbors.
Parish President Ryan Seal also attended the ribbon cutting and wished them continued success as they serve the residents of Mt. Hermon and the surrounding community.
