Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the STPSO SWAT Team and Louisiana Probation and Parole, concluded an investigation this week into the distribution of crack cocaine from a Slidell-area residence. Crack cocaine, pills, illegal firearms and a ballistic vest were seized from a Slidell-area home as part of an investigation into crack cocaine distribution.
As detectives executed a search warrant at the home of 33-year-old Destin Miller in the 60000 block of Short Lane, another occupant of the residence, 47-year-old Anthony Thompson, fled into a nearby wooded area. He was later located hiding behind a residence on Boykin Lane and taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot.
During the investigation, detectives seized approximately 7 grams of crack cocaine, 100 Tapentadol pills, approximately 2 pounds of marijuana, four unlawfully possessed firearms, firearm parts and a ballistic vest. One of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen from the Slidell area in October 2025.
Both Miller, who is a convicted felon currently on parole through 2032 following a 2018 conviction for drug and firearm offenses, and Thompson were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on numerous drug-related, firearms-related, and other charges.
***All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty***
