Vito Saraceno, Jr.
February 13, 1952 - June 6, 2026
Vito Saraceno, Jr. was born in Bogalusa, LA on February 13, 1952 and passed away in Metairie, LA on June 6, 2026 at the age of 74.
Vito Attended Westside Emmanuel Church and when he was no longer able to attend, he enjoyed watching the services on Facebook. Vito was a wonderful father to his children. He was affectionally known by ‘Big Poppa” to his grandchildren and many of his friends. He was very proud of being a member of the 1969 Bogalusa High School Football State Champions.
Vito is survived by his wife Cheryl Newman Saraceno; children Shannon (Rev. Kelly) Penton, Vito Joseph “Joey” (Judy) Saraceno III, Christopher (Kristal) Provost, Tabitha (Bobby) Breland, Stacy (John Foster) Saraceno, and Maria Saraceno Green; grandchildren Vito “Joseph” Saraceno IV, Cody (Abbie) Stewart, Zachary (Amber) Saraceno, Caitlyn (Anakin) Rhoden, Alyson (Aaron) Williams, Cassidy (Austin) Yelverton, Jayden (Lexi) Provost, Jordan (Skyler) Provost, Kollin Green, Deanna Saraceno, Logan Green, Ryan Green, Nicole Lowery, Hayes Green, and Kaleigh Provost; great grandchildren Gianna Saraceno, Colton Williams, Kayce Williams, Isaac Williams, Anderson Yelverton, Charlotte Yelverton, Christopher Provost, Carolyn Provost, and Taylor Provost.
Vito was preceded in death by his parents Vito and Rose Marie Saraceno.
A visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:00a.m. until the memorial service time of 2:00p.m. Rev. Field Thigpen will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado Youth Fund.
