Margaret Turnage

Margaret Louise “Bean” Turnage, age 96 and a resident of Fernwood, MS, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026 at Camellia Estates in McComb.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at Reeves Cemetery in Summit, MS at 11 AM with the Rev. Trent Moak officiating. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Louise was born on April 21, 1930 in Franklinton, Washington Parrish, LA. She is the daughter of the late, Jessie Edward Toney and Charlotte “Lottie” Wood.
Louise worked various jobs during her long life but her favorite was at Croft Metals Company. Her great love was for her loving husband Lester “Buster” Turnage and their only child Tony “Mike” Mikell Turnage. She dearly loved cooking and taking care of them and their home. Even up to the age of 94, she would work her Fernwood neighborhood, work in her yard, and clean her home. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and a very active Christian woman in Fernwood Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and studied his teachings and is now resting in his presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buster Turnage; her only child Mike Turnage; and her sister Geneieve Koch of Tylertown.
Louise is survived by her loving friend of 30 plus years and caregiver James Harris of Summit; her brother Harlon Toney; two sisters Agnes Smith and Elnora Melear; one brother-in-law Tommie Turnage (Patsy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
