UPDATE: The remains of 18-year-old Jonis Warren, 18 of St. Tammany Parish, were recovered and received by the coroner. WPSO expresses thanks to Mark Michaud with Southeast Louisiana Underwater Search and Recovery, Northshore Ambulance EMTs and District Six Fire Department volunteers for assisting in search efforts.

Original Report
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office reports that their communications section received a 911 call at 1:44 PM today (June 6, 2026) stating that someone, while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River, went under the water and did not resurface.
WPSO deputies, volunteers from the District Six Fire Department, and EMTs from Northshore Ambulance responded along with a diver with sonar equipment.
The search remains active for the St. Tammany Parish resident and the family has been notified.
