Obituary

Kenneth Roy Magee

April 16, 1944 - May 8, 2026

Kenneth Roy Magee, age 82 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away on Friday May 8, 2026 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He graduated from Pine High School in 1962 and had several jobs before making a career of over 35 years in the tow-boat industry. Roy started as a deckhand but over the years continued to obtain the experience and training to earn his Masters of Towing Vessels license, then served as a Captain for many years before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors but loved fishing most of all. He also loved watching NASCAR races every Sunday, cheering for his favorite Chevy drivers. Roy and his family enjoyed camping on the Bogue Chitto River and at lakes and reservoirs all around the area, anywhere that offered great fishing. He enjoyed gardening and frying fresh fish for his family and friends. They all claim it to be the best they have ever tasted. Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that cherished all the time spent with his family.
