Billy Wayne Watts, Sr.
September 17, 1953 - May 26, 2026
Billy Wayne Watts, Sr., age 72 and of Angie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. A lifelong resident of Angie and graduate of Varnado High School, Billy was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and hardworking man who spent his life providing for those he cared about most. He was a member of Angie Baptist Church and retired from Creel Brothers after many years of dedicated work.
More than anything, Billy treasured his family. He shared 49 devoted years of marriage with his wife, Cheryl Kennedy Watts, and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, Lucas and Aaron, who were the pride of his life. Whether through his work ethic, quiet strength, or steady love, Billy left an example that will continue to guide his family for generations to come.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Kennedy Watts; his son, Billy Watts, Jr.; his daughter, Christina Watts-Lott and husband Mark; his two grandsons, Mark Aaron Lott, Jr. and Lucas Lott; his uncle, John Thornhill; his aunt, Jackie Kennedy; and Lisa Raviotta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Watts; his mother, Mary Watts McNeese; his brother-in-law, Benton Kennedy; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Carolyn Kennedy.
Serving as pallbearers are Lucas Lott, Mark Aaron Lott, Jr., Braxton Newman, Charlie Chastant, Carlos Cobon, Scott Thornhill, and David Bickham.
Honorary pallbearers are John Thornhill, Reggie Kennedy, and Curtis Creel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown-McGehee Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Edgar Jenkins III will officiate the services. Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
