Obituary

Gillis "GiGi" Jones Norris

January 14, 1940 - May 25, 2026

Gillis “GiGi” Jones Norris, a devoted servant of God and beloved matriarch, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior May 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on January 14, 1940, in Bogalusa, LA. “GiGi” lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and hard work. For many years, she was a dedicated employee at AT&T, where her strong work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues until her well-deserved retirement in 2007. While she took pride in her career, “GiGi’s” true life’s work was her faith. She loved God with all her heart and truly lived each day to make Him known. A prayer warrior for her family, her passion for the Lord was fierce, and she made sure everyone around her knew exactly where she stood. Her Legacy lives on through her family, who will forever cherish her wisdom, her unconditional love, and the beautiful example of a life well-lived in service to Christ. She loved playing piano, singing, listening to gospel music, and the Grand Ole Opry.

She is survived by her Husband, John J. Norris; her Children, Wanda J Bordelon, Sheryl J. Foraker (Mark), William O. “BJ” Jenkins; Stepchildren, Willard Norris, Birdel Duke; Grandchildren, Kimberly Bordelon, Stephanie Hall, Kristopher Carter (Candice), and Brooke Hatchett, Joe Foraker (Patricia), Michael Foraker (Katy), Marcus Morgan (Kayley); Great-Grandchildren, Falen Bordelon (Hunter), Aiden Hall, Kyler Rowley, Ashton Foraker, Madilyn Foraker, Paxton Shirah; Two Sisters, Yvonne “Misty” Ebert (Ron) and Margaret “Margo” Young, and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
