Andrew “Andy” Wilson Hunt, III, age 65, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Varnado, Louisiana.
Andy was a loving grandfather, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He spent many years living in the Poydras, Louisiana area before later moving to Bogalusa to be closer to his son and family. Andy was a proud member of the Boilermakers Union and a longtime member of House of Judea Sanctuary in Violet, Louisiana, under the pastoral leadership of his longtime friend, Bro. Leo Melerine.
Andy loved fishing, cooking, horse racing, NASCAR, and just about anything sports related. He was a longtime New Orleans Saints and LSU fan and enjoyed spending time with family, talking sports, and cheering on his favorite teams.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Hunt, and daughter-in-law, Joanie Hunt; his grandchildren, Maleaha Hunt, Toxie “TK” Knight, and Kana Knight; his great-grandchild, Solomon Knight; Darline Nunez, mother of his son Joshua; his sisters, Jayne Dickson, Nancy Wilborn, and Missy Hunt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Andy spent his final days at home surrounded by the love and support of his son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great friend Darline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earline Atwood Hunt and Wilson Hunt Jr.; and his sisters, Millie R. Wilborn and Regina Morales.
A memorial gathering celebrating Andy’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Monroe Street Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1412 Monroe Street, Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation and fellowship will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service.
A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at House of Judah Church, 5909 East St. Bernard Highway, Violet, Louisiana, for family and friends unable to travel to Bogalusa.
