James Kenith Douglas
March 11, 1939 - May 12, 2026
James Kenith Douglas, age 87 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Tuesday morning May 12, 2026 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Washington/St. Tammany Electric Co-Op, after a very long and distinguished career of 52 years in the accounting department. James proudly served his country and community in the Louisiana Army Reserve-National Guard for 21 years before retiring. He was an avid sports fan that loved watching all different types, including baseball, football, boxing and mixed martial arts. For many years, James took vacations on guided bus trips and tours to all parts of the United States, and even into Canada, where they boarded a train to see much of the country. Recently, he enjoyed having lunch almost daily at Sugar Shack and the Council On Aging, visiting with the friends he met.
Survived by: Son: Kenith Lee Douglas; Grandchildren and Spouses: Steven and Bunnie Douglas, Amber and Barry Cooper, Jr.; Great-grandchildren: Isabella Cooper, Aubrey Cooper; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members
He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh Newton Douglas and Lillian Grace Magee Douglas, brothers Donald Douglas, George Douglas, Sidney Douglas, sister Ruth Douglas Comeaux, daughter in law Tammie Hunt Douglas and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday May 15th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hermon Cemetery.
