Frank Jenkins, age 50 and of the Covington-area man, was arrested by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office early Saturday (May 16, 2026) morning following a fatal shooting at a residence on Highway 1081.
Shortly after 1 a.m., the STPSO received a 911 call from a woman reporting that her uncle had shot her father. A second 911 call was also received from the suspected shooter. Deputies responded to the 20000 block of Highway 1081 near Covington, where they encountered Frank Jenkins. Jenkins told deputies he had shot his brother, 47-year-old William Jenkins, following an altercation.
Deputies located William Jenkins with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Frank Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center, where he will be booked on one count of Second Degree Murder.

Both men lived on the property.
The body of the deceased has been turned over to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office.
