Bobbie Jane Patrick Knight

October 23, 1929 - April 16, 2026

Bobbie Jane Patrick Knight, age 96 and of Marrero, La., passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026.

Born on October 23, 1929, in Mansfield, La., Janie lived a full and meaningful life devoted to family, faith and community. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper and sales associate for many years and was known for her kindness, generosity, humor and faith.

Janie was a person of deep faith and an active parishioner in her church. She enjoyed quilting, reading and her bible studies. She especially cherished time spent with family and friends.

She is survived by four children: Mitchell Keith (Marcia), Richard Doyle (Susan), Sharon Dean (Gregory) and Patricia Dawn (Scott). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Amy Lynn Knight Shiflett, Lance Richard Knight, Mandy Knight Himel (Drew), Ethan Michael Parker, Shea Jane-Rene Rousselle, Conrad Rousselle (Courtney), and Carley Rousselle Hollins (Chris). She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: Sarah Shiflett Comeaux (Jonathan), Abigail Elizabeth Shiflett, Addison Dru Himel, Bennett James Knight, Anna Knight, Cooper Rousselle, Cami Rousselle and Kincaid Hollins. She is also survived by her loving niece Kim Springer (David).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Doyle Knight, and her sister Maureen Swanzy.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA). Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Pine First Baptist Church or Marrero First Baptist Church in Bobbie Jane's memory. Bobbie Jane will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
