Eva Magee Taylor

September 22, 1953 — March 29, 2026

Eva Magee Taylor was the sixth child born to Thomas Ward and Erma Dean Magee, the wife of Emerson McDaniel Taylor, mother of Daniel Taylor and Carla Rudison, grandmother to Hayden and Collin Taylor, godmother to Akadya Appleberry, grand godmother to Maddisyn Grace Magee and a friend to many who knew her.

She was born September 22, 1953 in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She departed this life in the peaceful serene environment at Richard Murphy Hospice House surrounded lovingly by her daughter, Carla Rudison, her son Daniel Taylor and her Son-in-Law Damien T. Rudison.

Eva graduated from Franklinton High School and obtained an associates degree in Early Childhood Education from North Shore Technical College. She was employed for 52 years at Regina Coeli Child Development Center as an Educator of three and four year old children. This employment afforded many opportunities to exhibit her love for children.

Eva joined and was baptized at Winan United Methodist Church at an early age. As a dedicated member of Winan, she labored in whatever capacity she was needed. She was often heard to say “I will help, but I won’t be in charge.” Because of her love for Christ and the community, she often visited many different churches and participated in many community events.

She will forever be remembered lovingly; by her son Daniel (Sehrish) Taylor, Odenton, Maryland, Carla (Damien) Rudison, Hammond, LA; grandsons Hayden Taylor, San Diego, CA, Collin Taylor, Odenton, Maryland; God children Akadya (Aaron) Appleberry, Waco, TX, and Maddisyn Grace Magee, Franklinton, LA.; siblings, Erma Delores (Frank) Fortenberry, Hammond, LA, Richard (Ola) Magee, Franklinton, LA, Pansy Magee, Baton Rouge, LA, Andre Magee, Houston, TX; Sisters-in-law, Edna Magee, Winifred Bickham; brothers-in-law, Craig Taylor, Wilson Taylor, all of Franklinton, LA., a host of loving nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Eva was proceeded in death by her parents, Thomas Ward and Erma Dean Magee; husband, Emerson McDaniel Taylor; beloved brothers, Thomas Arthur Magee and Abron Magee; Father in law, Lawrence Taylor, Mother in law, Christine Taylor; Sister-in-law, Gwen Berry and Niece Toni Burton Robinson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 9:00AM - 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00AM at Faith in the Word Ministry 23749 Highway 430 Franklinton, LA 70438 with Rev Jacob Tate, Jr. - Host Pastor and Rev. Frederick Sweetwyne - Pastor Officiating. Interment - Winan United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
