Frankie Nadine Knight Cooper Perkins
August 11, 1938 - April 4, 2026
Frankie Knight Cooper Perkins, born August 11th, 1938 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2026 in Amite, Louisiana at the age of 87. Frankie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose loving spirit touched everyone she met.
A charter member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Frankie devoted her life to serving others and sharing her faith. In later years she was a member of Reeves Bible Church. She dedicated over 25 years to teaching 5th grade at Reeves High School, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. She cherished traveling with her special group of friends, embracing the world with her "Gypsy soul."
Frankie was very creative and she loved to paint, decorate cakes, knitt, and every year taught her students to crochet ornaments, just in time for Christmas. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Muller and husband Richard; her granddaughters, Karrie Mack and husband Bob, Tara Hogan and husband Fish, and Cassie Jenkins; brother-in-law, Shelton Fontenot; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Frankie's legacy lives on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
She is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Ray Perkins; her parents, TD and Gracie Knight; and her sister, Mary Lee Fontenot.
The family extends their gratitude to those who supported and loved Frankie with a special thank you to the members of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Independence, Louisiana and Modern Hospice in Hammond, Louisiana for their thoughtfulness the last few months of her life. Her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
Family will receive friends for visitation Monday, April 6th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and resume Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home 219 Ford St. Reeves, Louisiana. Rev. Don Barrett with be officiating.
Internment will follow at Creel Cemetery Reeves, Louisiana.
