Albert Hall

October 8, 1953  -  April 9, 2026

Albert Hall, Jr, age 72 and of Normal, IL, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, surrounded by family at home in Normal.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home (1104 N. Main St, Bloomington, IL 61701).

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Wayman AME Church (803 W. Olive Street, Bloomington, IL 61701). Following the visitation, the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Elexis Thomas officiating. A family burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery (302 E. Miller Street, Bloomington, IL, 61701).

Albert was born October 8, 1953, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Albert Hall, Sr. and Louvenia Elector Hall. He attended Bogalusa High School where he met the love of his life, Alinda Gayle Gholar. After high school, he attended the Job Corps and received training in welding.

After the Job Corps, he signed up to join the Army Reserve in 1973 with his best friend Janola Walker and served his entire military service through 1979. Albert and Alinda were united in marriage on September 10, 1977, at Wayman AME Church in Bloomington, IL and shared 48 wonderful years together.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Alinda G. Hall; his three children, Albert Anthony Hall (Liz) of Bloomington, Ashley Elizabeth Hall of Normal, and Adam Joseph Hall of Normal; two granddaughters, Ariana Noel Elizabeth Hall of Bloomington and Aaliyah Renee Carmean, Normal; siblings, Linda of Bogalusa, LA, Josie of Bogalusa, LA, Sabrina (Zachery) of Bogalusa, LA, Tresvon (Tracey) of Houston, TX, Kevin of Bogalusa, LA, Karen (Clarence) of Panama, FL, and Marquitte (Chris) of Parker, TX; two goddaughters, Nicole Powell (Rev Essie Powell) of Bogalusa, LA and Heather Fluker of Atlanta, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Michael Hall and Sharon Hall.

His profession was as a trained welder and his working years included jobs at Caterpillar Tractor Company, M&W Gear Company, The Pantagraph and Midwest Fiber, Inc.

His life was fulfilled in his role as a husband, father, grandfather, godfather, uncle, and friend. He was a lifelong member of Wayman AME Church. He was affectionately known as “Papa” by his grandchildren, a name that reflected the deep love and affection they had for him.

He was an avid sports enthusiast including supporter of the Chicago teams both the Bears and the Cubs.

Albert was a steady rock for his family and friends. He always had a quiet strength about him. Those who truly knew him knew about his abiding love for his family. He would try to be there for just about any of his loved ones who needed him.
