Jean Theresa Rivet Thomas
August 4, 1937 - April 19, 2026
Jean Theresa Rivet Thomas, age 88 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully at her home early Sunday morning April 19, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1937 and grew up in White Castle, LA before moving with her young family to her husband’s native Washington Parish over 60 years ago. She owned and operated Jean’s Beauty Shop in Franklinton and always enjoyed serving and visiting with her many friends and clients through all the years. Jean was an avid golfer. She was a past board member of the Franklinton Country Club, playing golf very often and always taking part in the many tournaments and special events. She and her husband also traveled throughout the South to vacation and play rounds at many beautiful golf courses. Jean loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survived by: 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Jimmy and Tracey Thomas, Dennis Thomas, Danny and Jennifer Thomas; Grandchildren and Spouses: Heath and Laurie Thomas, April Thomas, Brandi Hingle, Jimmy and Taylor Crowe, Brandi Lynn and Phillip Taylor, Sean Alexander Thomas, Abbigail and Austin Reedy, Carson Thomas; Great-grandchildren: Colin, Anna Grace, Luke, Drew, Lily Kate, Caiden, Audra, Remi, Tatum, Ruston, Arielle Lynn and an expected great-grandchild; Sister in law: Susan Thomas; Also numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband James N. Thomas, parents Lindon Rivet and Annette Hebert Rivet, sisters Patricia Messina, Betty Laurent, Irene Gulotta, brothers Lindon “Noonie” Rivet, Jr., Russell Rivet, Roy Rivet, father in law and mother in law Alphus and Hattie Thomas, brothers in law Marvin Thomas, Glenn Thomas, sisters in law Thelma Watson, Pauline Lumpkin, Betty Joyce Hughes and other family members.
A graveside funeral service will be held in the Thomas Cemetery at 11:00 am Wednesday April 22nd with Rev. Tom Descant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Thomas First Baptist Church Youth Fund (32035 Hwy. 62, Franklinton, LA 70438).
