James Edward Baughman

May 12, 1937 - March 16, 2026

James Edward Baughman, age 88 and of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on March 16th, 2026, at Sage Lake Assisted Living in Covington, LA. He was born in Bogalusa on May 12, 1937. He had a love for his family, a love for the Lord, and spent countless hours listening to Gods Word on his Bible App. He was a long-time member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church. He retired as a millwright mechanic from International Paper. After retiring he served on numerous mission trips to Belize. James enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as making custom knives for his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Brian (Deborah) Baughman, Deborah (Gary) Blackledge, Terry Baughman, and Tina Breland. Grandchildren are Michael (Elysia) McMillan, Bradley (Raven) Baughman, Blake (Stacey) Baughman, Katie Hughes, Darla (Daniel) Kopelman, and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Victoria, Kevin, Brycen, Elizabeth, Parker, Anniston, Falynn, Hampton, and Sloane. Also survived by one niece, Joanna Baughman and one nephew, Ricky Baughman (Kaye).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward and Mable Hunt Baughman; son, Kelvin Bernard; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Pauline Baughman.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home, located at 216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, Louisiana. Funeral services will be officiated by Bro. Jimmy Byrd, Bro. Caleb Martin, and Bro. Lynn Martin at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 am. Pallbearers are Michael McMillan, Blake Baughman, Brycen Baughman, Troy Breland, Gary Blackledge, and Daniel Kopelman. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Baughman, Bradley Baughman, Parker Baughman, Tyler McMillan, and Kevin McMillan. Burial will be at Ben’s Ford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ben’s Ford Baptist Church, Building Fund, 58521 Hwy 439, Bogalusa, LA.70427.
