Shirley loved family gatherings and treasured every moment spent with those she held dear. She raised her children boldly with strength and determination, always holding them accountable but never wavering when it came to having their backs and ready to go to bat for them whenever needed. Her home and heart were open to many, and countless children who came through her doors lovingly called her “Mom,” a testament to the way she cared for others as if they were her own.
Shirley was passionate about life and beautiful both inside and out. Her captivating hazel eyes and lovely singing voice left lasting impressions, and her children cherish the many memories of hearing their mom sing. She was an avid bowler, participating in leagues and tournaments over the years, and proudly earned a place in the 300 Club by bowling a perfect game.
She also enjoyed crocheting, lovingly creating hats and blankets for her children and grandchildren. In quieter moments, she could often be found playing on her tablet or enjoying a game of bingo. Shirley had a gift for cooking, and her family still fondly debates her best dish, from homemade soups to smothered pork chops to her unforgettable fudge.
Shirley loved listening to her French music and never missed a chance to dance, especially the jitterbug. She found joy in being surrounded by loved ones, laughing, dancing, and simply enjoying life together.
She will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in knowing she is now free from pain and reunited with those she has missed for so long. Her spirit will live on in the many cherished memories we hold and in the love, strength, and values she instilled in each of us throughout our lives.
