Gary Edwin Duncan  

September 12, 1949 - March 12, 2026

Gary Edwin Duncan, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, was born on September 12, 1949, and passed away peacefully at his residence on March 12, 2026, at the age of 76.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Duncan; his mother, Vernie Dunaway Duncan; his stepfather, Horace Boyd; his brother, Paul Wayne Duncan; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, G.P. Lambert and Emma Peek Lambert.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eloise Lambert Duncan; his daughter, Amber (Russ) Haik; his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Haik and Logan Matthew Haik, all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; his brother, Ricky Duncan (Linda); his stepbrothers, Charles Boyd and Gene Boyd; and his stepsisters, Vickie Bryant and Gwen Serpas.

Gary was a 1968 graduate of Bogalusa High School. After graduation, he attended Spencer Business College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1969, he married the love of his life and began his career with the Bogalusa Paper Mill, where he faithfully worked until retiring after 43 years of service.

Gary proudly served in the Louisiana National Guard for six years as a medic. He was also a member of American Legion Post 24 Rifle Team and served as a member of the Forty & Eight.

Gary enjoyed building and selling homes throughout Washington Parish and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Gary will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and the love he shared with those around him. 

Visitation will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 9:30a.m. until service time of 11:00a.m.  Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery with Magic City Post #24 conducting Military Honors.
