Leslie Daryl Grant

April 20, 1972 - March 21, 2026

Leslie Daryl Grant, age 53, was born in Torrance, CA on April 20, 1972, passed away on March 21, 2026, at his residence in Bogalusa, LA.  Daryl was a devoted father and son to his family.  He worked at Rayburn Correctional Center for 30 years.  He earned an associate degree in Bio Medical Technician.  Daryl’s hobbies included fishing, collecting watches as well as collecting an assortment of gadgets that were special to him.  He loved his devotionals in church and was a member of Westside Emmanuel Church.  His least favorite activity was yard work and avoided it as much as he could.

Daryl is survived by his children William Blake Grant of Austin, TX, and Anna Elizabeth Grant of Bogalusa, LA; his mother Susan Easterling Ard; his former wife Nicole Denette Prestridge; sister Stephanie Elaine Ard of Bogalusa, LA; brothers Joseph Randolf Ard of Conroe, TX, and Scott Richard Ard of Bogalusa, LA.

Daryl was preceded in death by his father Leslie Grant; his stepfather Richard Sherfield Ard; grandparents Lorraine Easterling Randolf and J.C. “Red” and Ida Mae Williams.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. and Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:00 until the service time of 11:00a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.  Rev. Marcus Rosa will officiate the service and interment will be held at Wallace Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Simmons, Jason Lorio, Jason Ard, Reuben Watts, Daylen Ard, Matthew Simmons and Jimmy Byrd Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Miley, Michael Hughes and John Gulchynzky.
