Jerry Devin Applegate

July 8, 2004 - March 23, 2026

Jerry Devin Applegate, age 21 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Monday night March 23, 2026 at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded, as always, by his beloved family. Devin faced many hardships and health struggles, but he lived life to fullest, enjoying all the things a young man should. He played video games with his friends, loved listening to his favorite rock music and watching countless Anime movies and TV shows. Devin liked listening to different types of audio books, watching educational videos, racing remote control cars, building Legos and he had a huge collection of Pop! Figures that filled his bedroom. He had a wonderful sense of humor, even about himself and his family, and he never met a stranger. Although times could be tough for him, Devin spread joy and love to everyone he knew and the memories created will last a lifetime. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Survived by: Parents: Jerry Dexter Applegate and Tina Toups Applegate; Grandparents: Dede and Gene Passman, Jerry Dewayne and Ruby Applegate, Gwen and Shay Musseau, Donald and Susie Toups; Great-grandparents: T-90 and Sally Johnson; Aunt: Jennifer Toups; He is also survived by numerous cousins, many dear friends and a large number of non-family members that helped care for him and support the family for many years.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents and many other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday March 28th from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Crowe Family Cemetery.
