Bobbie Earl Wilkes McElveen Adams

January 15, 1935 - February 21, 2026

Bobbie Earl Wilkes McElveen Adams, age 91 and a resident of the Mt. Hermon community, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday February 21, 2026. Bobbie was born in Mt. Hermon on January 15, 1935 to Earl and Willie Burch Wilkes. She graduated from Mt. Hermon High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart Quinlon S. McElveen. She was a devoted mother and lovingly raised their four children.

Bobbie worked in the business office at Riverside Hospital for many years. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where she was co-teacher of the Deborah Sunday School Class, leader of WMU, and served on the finance committee. She took great pride in her yard and was mowing it herself up until age 85. She was a charter member of the Mt.Hermon Ladies Ruritan Club and served as secretary. She and husband, Reuel Adams, traveled much of the United States and enjoyed camping. They belonged to several daylily and camellia societies. They had a beautiful garden with hundreds of daylilies. She was a wonderful cook and her speciality was chicken and dumplings and homemade fudge. Bobbie was honored in May of last year as the oldest graduate present at the MHS Golden Graduate Reunion. Her kindness and generosity will always be remembered and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.
