Tommy "Lightweight" Magee
August 23, 1960 - February 7, 2026
Tommy "Lightweight" Magee, age 65 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his residence.
Tommy loved God. He loved sharing his testimony in hopes it would help someone. He always felt that is why God kept him here-to help others. He knew he made mistakes and truly wanted to help others walk a different path.
When home from trucking he enjoyed camping with his sons in law and grandchildren, playing with his German Shepherd, Mercy, and getting out in the yard and tinkering-he was always building, fixing, or creating something. He didn’t know how to stay still.
Fishing and squirrel hunting was his favorite pasttime. He loved walking the woods, running lines, and just being out in the river. He was the best camp storyteller.
He had the best laugh and would always try to bring a smile to anyone’s face. He never wanted to see someone sad. He would go out of his way to make you laugh. And when he held your hand, he didn’t just hold it. He would squeeze it and held on to it so tight so you would know he had you.
He loved his trucks but his pride and joy-after his wife, kids, and grandchildren, was his first truck-Paw Pete. While on the road he was a scavenger hunter. He was always looking for funny, odd, or unique things to send or bring back home. His favorite was collecting rocks from all over the country. He never came home empty handed.
