Annie Grace

Annie Grace was born on February 18, 1945, to the late Samuel and Estella Haywood. She was the seventh of ten children born into a loving and close-knit family, where faith, service, and dedication were deeply rooted values that would guide her throughout her life.
For more than 30 years, Annie was a faithful and devoted member of Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton, Louisiana. Her commitment to the ministry was evident in the many capacities in which she served. She worked diligently on the Culinary Committee, served as Mission President, Senior Choir President, and was an active member of the Pastor’s Aide Committee and Church Anniversary Committee. In addition, she faithfully served as the 3rd District Mission President for 22 years. Annie truly lived her faith, always declaring that she was “on the battlefield for her Lord,” and her life reflected that unwavering devotion.
Annie received her early education at St. Helena Senior High School in Greensburg, Louisiana. She furthered her studies at the University of New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana, continuing her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
Her dedication to service extended beyond the church into the community she loved. Annie faithfully served at the Community Action Agency Government Office for 26 years. Through her work, she touched countless lives, offering support, guidance, and compassion to those in need. After more than two decades of committed service, she retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and excellence.
Annie Grace’s life was a testament to faith, service, and unwavering commitment to both her church and community. She will be remembered for her steadfast devotion, servant’s heart, and the lasting impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister Wahrena Waller of Hayward, California. Four children Sandra (Charles Turner), Shenita Sims, Zelda, and Paula Robinson. 3 God children Beverly (Zaren) James, Baton Rouge, Tenisha (Alden Prout) Arnaudville, La., Christian Young of Franklinton La. 13 grandkids, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Estella Johnson Haywood, her husband Deacon Ralph Grace, 4 brothers Samuel, Ervin, Joseph, and Walter Haywood, 4 sisters Cora, Emma, Birtha, and Leona, 1 niece, 1 grandson, 4 nephews and 2 great nephews.
The Funeral Service will on February 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Sweet Rest Baptist Church in Franklinton. Interment will follow at 12:45 PM at Sweet Rest Cemetery.
Schaffer Family Funeral Home in Rosedale, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
