Virginia Faye Knight Varnado

March 21, 1943 - February 9, 2026

Virginia Faye Knight Varnado, age 82, was born in Pascagoula, MS on March 21, 1943, passed away on February 9, 2026, at her residence in Watson, LA.

Virginia’s hobby was crocheting. She made numerous blankets for family members and friends, as well as multiple dolls and other special items. She loved cooking, gardening, planting flowers, fishing, and vacationing with her family. Music was her passion and she played it loudly.

Virginia is survived by the father of her children, Ray Knight, who was there by her side until the end; two sons, Bruce E Knight and Steve E Knight; two daughters, Lisa F Gunter (Brian) and Teresa I Knight Gomez (Hugo); five grandchildren, Brandon Knight (Aeriel), Brittany Kennedy, Bailey Gunter, Mason Drummond, Joshua Knight, and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Joyce Joachimi; two brothers, Leon Varnado and Ray Varnado, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Iola Varnado; Siblings, Willie Varnado, Shirley Varnado, Richard Varnado, and Wilma Ann Varnado.

Funeral visitation to be held Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM immediately followed by the service at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home located at 216 Alabama Ave, Bogalusa, LA 70427. Chaplain, Booker T Baskin will officiate the service and interment will follow at Sones Chapel located at 17 Leo V Sones Rd, Carriere, MS 39426. Active Pallbearers will be Steve Knight, Mason Drummond, Brandon Knight, Brian Gunter, Hugo Gomez, and Marcus Lange. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Knight.
