Barbara Ann Fleniken Jones
January 28, 1942 - January 25, 2026
Barbara Ann Fleniken Jones, age 83 and a resident of the Enon Community, passed away early Sunday morning January 25, 2026 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, just short of her birthday of January 28, 1942. Bobbie, as she was known, was retired after a 40 year career with the Washington Parish Library System. She was manager of the Enon Branch Library for many years and also served as manager of the Franklinton location for many years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Plainview Baptist Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Sunday School class. Bobbie was a shepherdess, raising sheep alongside her family for many years, including showing sheep at 4-H livestock shows during her son’s youth. She also raised horses on the family farm. Bobbie and her husband loved riding their Trike motorcycle, taking many trips around the area especially along the Natchez Trace, from Mississippi all the way into Tennessee. She enjoyed arts and crafts and made unique pins that she gave to friends and family to wear.
Survived by: Son: Chat Jones of the Plainview Community; Sister and Brother in law: Yvonne “Teeny” and James "Jim" Womack of Zachary; Niece: Vanda Kay Manino and husband Mike Manino; Nephew: Randall Withers and wife Ashley Withers; Great-niece: Vallen Camp and husband Ashley Camp; Great-great-niece: Juniper Camp
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Norman Jones, parents Lee Brown Fleniken and Bessie Forbes Fleniken, a sister Lorraine Withers and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday January 28th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Thursday with Rev. Scott Breland officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
