Clyde Jewel Kennedy, age 82 and of Angie, a lifelong servant to his family, community, and country, leaves behind a legacy of love, leadership, and friendship that will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years Yvonne Kennedy; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Melissa Kennedy; his daughters and sons-in-law, Suzi and Ramie Bourne and Alana and Duane Seay. He was a proud grandfather to Brooke Pierce, Eric Bourne, Jordan Pierce, Haley (Dakoyta) Warren, Nathan Seay, and Charlie Seay, and a cherished great-grandfather to Myles Wheat and Jensen Warren, also survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Pace Kennedy and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by a treasured grandson, Andrew Kennedy; parents Henry Andrew and Eunice Pope Kennedy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlos W. (Bonnie Mae) Kennedy, Havon (Elsie) Kennedy, Bryce (Ruth) Kennedy, Harry (Annie Mae) Kennedy, Ford (Dorothy) Kennedy, J.B. Kennedy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Henrietta K. (Nolan) Williamson, Earline K. (Reese) Parker Folks, Annette Armour Phillips, Myra (Earl) Boone, and Betty Joyce Kennedy.

Clyde was a faithful and active member of Angie Baptist Church for more than 50 years, where his presence blessed many. His commitment to his community was evident throughout his life. He served as Chief of Police for the Village of Angie, active member of the Angie Volunteer Fire Department where he served as assistant chief, and was a charter member of the Angie Waders Club. As the owner and operator of Kennedy and Son Backhoe Service, he worked hard to serve the people of the area with integrity and dedication. Clyde was also a proud retiree of the U.S. Army and a devoted 60+ year member of the Pine Masonic Lodge #264 F&AM reflecting his deep sense of duty, honor, and brotherhood. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Clyde loved taking his camper to the Washington Parish Free Fair for many years, where he was affectionately known as the “Gate Keeper” of the camping area. He treasured time spent in the Great Smoky Mountains with family and friends just as much as being at home in Angie. Around town, he was a familiar and welcome sight riding his trusty golf cart up and down the streets. A true John Deere man, Clyde proudly rode his favorite 820 tractor in the Fair parade and the Fourth of July parade. Clyde never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and could sit down with anyone, sharing stories, laughter, and wisdom. His friendly spirit, servant’s heart, and love for people made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was definitely one of a kind! He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Angie Baptist Church, from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. with Masonic Rites held at 1:30p.m.  The Reverends Dr. Bryant Barns, Rev.
