Anita Marie Esteve Barber
December 14, 1959 - January 16, 2026
Anita Marie Esteve Barber, age 66 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully Friday evening January 16, 2026 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born in New Orleans on December 14, 1959. Anita was a devoted wife and mother and especially loved her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her family with delicious red beans and rice, chicken ‘n dumplins and biscuits, being just some of their favorites. Anita enjoyed listening to her large collection of old country music and she liked watching her favorite classic TV shows.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years Charles Barber, Sr.; children and spouses Charles Barber, Jr. (Lisa), Sandra Barber, William Barber, Joshua Barber (Miranda), Tiffany Ruberts (George); grandchildren Makayla, Chasity, Bethany, Ashleigh, Maya, Annette, Joseph, Elijah, Annalee, Wyatt and River; great-grandchildren Kayden, Bradley, Raelyn, Lukas, and Avery; Also numerous other family members and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick Joseph Esteve, Sr. and Freddie Marie Barber Esteve, brother Michael Esteve and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday January 19th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Monday with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
