Obituary

Tinie May Skiffer Magee

September 15, 1952 - December 4, 2025

Mrs. Tinie May Skiffer Magee was born September 15, 1952, Shivers, Mississippi to the union of George West and Louella Skiffer. She was the youngest of four children. At an early age her father and mother moved the family to Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Sis. Tinie accepted Christ in her life at an early age at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. MK Duncan. Sis. Tinie worked diligently with the youth, hospitality, and kitchen committees.

In 1968 she met the love of her life the Late Rev. Dr. James Edward Magee, Sr. after a two-year courtship they married May 4, 1970. To this union three children were born. In 1996 her husband was called to be the pastor of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church. Sis Tinie continued to  work in the church until her health failed . Sis. Tinie loved children and cooking. She helped raise and mentored many. 

On December 4, 2025 God saw that Sis. Tinie was tired  and her earthly work had been completed so he sent an angle to bring her to her heavenly home. 

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, James E. (Precious) Magee, Jr. Anthony Magee and Cederick Magee; eight grandchildren; one sibling,  Min. Robert (Regina) Skiffer; two close lifelong friends of forty plus years, Janice Walker, Gaynell Andrews; three sisters-in-laws,  Lilly Rose, Florence, Rosetta Magee, a host of God Children, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Sis. Tinie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years 7 months, Rev. Dr. James E. Magee, Sr.; a great grandson, Nigel Morgan; her parents, George and Louella Skiffer; two sisters, Pearlie Mae Ratliff, and Ella Mae Skiffer; brothers-in-law, Esco Ratliff, Sr., John, Jr., Clyde, Leander, Alvin, Charles Ray, George, Jewel, Michael, Roy Magee; three sisters-in-law, Ora Dee Tibbs, Jennifer Pittman, and Bessie Magee. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 9:00AM - 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church 1408 N Roosevelt St. Bogalusa, LA. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
