On December 5, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle crash on LA 1078 near Spinks Road in St. Tammany Parish (north of Folsom). The crash claimed the life of 64-year-old Sandy A. Meyer of Carriere, Mississippi.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Meyer was driving a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis east on LA 1078, near Spinks Road. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Meyer, who was properly restrained, suffered serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital where she later died. As part of the ongoing investigation, a routine toxicology sample was obtained for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
