Peggy Adkins Criddle

September 6, 1949 - October 4, 2025

Peggy Adkins Criddle, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana, passed away Saturday morning October 4, 2025 at Fair City Health and Rehab. She was a native of Lookout, West Virginia, born on September 6, 1949, and grew up in the area before later moving with her husband and young children to Washington Parish in 1981. Peggy worked in the human resources department of Riverside Medical Center for several years and also worked with the Washington Parish Library System at the Franklinton branch for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and painting. Peggy was also an excellent cook, her delicious spaghetti being just one of the family favorites. She had traveled to Italy for vacation time with her son and loved to tell everyone she met about the wonderful trips. Though living in Franklinton for over 40 years, she always considered the hills of West Virginia as home and she will return to the area where she grew up to be laid to rest with her family.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Cathy and Randell Dykes of Franklinton; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Mathew Criddle of Tennessee, Travis Criddle and Juliane of Italy; Grandchildren: Jacy Dykes, Timothy Basco Dykes and Anthony; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: Tom and Linda Adkins, Rick and Karen Adkins all of West Virginia; Special Friends: Faye Rider and her daughter Crystal Oncale; Also several brothers in law and sisters in law as well as many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Criddle, parents Cecil and Dreama Adkins and other family members.

Visitation will be held at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, WV on Wednesday evening October 8th followed by a funeral service on Thursday. Peggy will be laid to rest in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens near Ansted.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to St. Joseph Hospice (409 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433).
