Shane Edward Strahan
November 28, 1970 - October 19, 2025
Shane Edward Strahan, age 54 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Sunday morning October 19, 2025 at his parent’s home surrounded by his beloved family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Shane graduated from Heritage Academy in Metairie, Louisiana Class of 1989 and later studied information technology at Delgado Community College. He worked, alongside his family, at Dependable Appliance in Franklinton for 35 years, focusing on retail sales of many different home appliances. Shane had an affinity for horses and loved following and watching thoroughbred horse racing, even attending many races in other parts of the state. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching different types during each season, including basketball, baseball, golf and football, especially the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He was also a fan of the W.W.E. and Formula 1 racing. Shane loved music and dancing and enjoyed going on Caribbean cruises with his family. He frequently watched Jimmy Swaggart Ministries’ Family Worship Center services and was baptized through their spreading of the gospel. Spending time with his family was very important to him and he had a special place in his heart for his pet Dachshund “Beaux”.
Survived by: Daughter: Abigail Louise Strahan of Minden, LA and her mother Lea Strahan; Parents: Edward Strahan and Shirley Cotton Strahan of Franklinton; Sisters and Brothers in law: Rewa Collette and Scott McDonald of Madisonville, Anna and Jonathan Chappuis of Mandeville; Nephews and Nieces: Zachary, Mason, Landon, Kylie, Carson, Leighton; Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Flora Cotton, Cecil and Ada Mae Strahan and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday October 25th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Jimmy Oalmann officiating.
